Find a Preceptor in a Few Steps
Can you find a preceptor? Yes you can. The horizon of opportunities for Family Nurse Practitioner students is expanding! As we steer into 2024, Walden FNP Preceptors are elated to announce the availability of fresh preceptorship spots in some of the Southeast’s most dynamic cities: Greenville, Raleigh, Atlanta, and Nashville.
Greenville, SC, a city renowned for its lush parks and thriving downtown, has not just scenic beauty but also a vibrant healthcare community to its name. The city’s diversified patient population and innovative medical settings make it an ideal spot for FNP students seeking a wholesome preceptorship experience.
Heading over to Raleigh, NC, the state’s capital beckons with its rich history and rapidly growing healthcare sector. Those securing spots with Raleigh FNP Preceptors will find themselves amidst a perfect blend of urban sophistication and tight-knit community vibes, offering both learning and networking opportunities.
Atlanta, GA, the bustling hub of the South, is not just about its iconic landmarks. Its healthcare landscape is as dynamic as its culture. FNP students in Atlanta can anticipate exposure to cutting-edge medical practices and a chance to engage with some of the top professionals in the field.
Last, but never the least, is the music city – Nashville, TN. Beyond its musical heart, Nashville boasts a robust healthcare sector with numerous clinics and hospitals that provide a rich environment for budding FNPs. The combination of Nashville’s medical community and its lively spirit guarantees an unparalleled learning journey.
The path to becoming a skilled Family Nurse Practitioner is adorned with critical milestones, and securing a valuable preceptorship is unquestionably one of them. With these key cities offering spots, FNP students have the chance to not just learn but also to immerse themselves in diverse cultural and medical environments. Sometimes it takes a little effort and elbow grease and you can find a preceptor in ways you hadn’t imagined. To find a preceptor takes dozens, sometimes hundreds of calls, and you may not have time to find a preceptor that way. And if you can’t rely on fellow Walden or Chamberlain FNP students, then you may seek the services of an agency like Preceptor Tree. Expect to pay between $12.50 to $14.75 per clinical hour to find a preceptor if you are a FNP student. To find a preceptor for a PMHNP program, it’s often between $16 to $18.95 per clinical hour, depending on the area. The Southeast is especially difficult because many sites are owned by major groups, hospitals and universities and this adds “red tape” to the process. If HR gets involved, they will resort to the safe option and deny you so they can pick someone from the university that owns them. So that means if you want to find a preceptor in Nashville or Atlanta, you will often not get a great deal if you wait until the last minute because the limited spots get taken very quickly. Walden only allows three students per preceptor and Chamberlain only two. That means you are in a race with your fellow students and friends to find a preceptor for the term you want. February 2024 is still available but it’s booking up. Find a preceptor on your own if you can, but if you can’t, book them through an agency as soon as you can.
However, a word to the wise: February 2024 slots are being snapped up quickly! Whether you’re drawn to the charm of Greenville, the promise of Raleigh, the energy of Atlanta, or the rhythm of Nashville, act promptly. Embark on a rewarding preceptorship journey and set the stage for a bright FNP future. Secure your spot today!
